My Blog

Join me in figuring out "what now?"

A Year In Photos

on 2 January, 2014

I’m stuck in the hospital. Nothing too serious, a little surgery that required an overnight stay. But I feel trapped. Been making my way back through months of missed Facebook posts, Pinterest pins, Imgur photos, Tweets, blogs, Mashable posts, emails… you name it. Thank heavens for the internet (and a decent internet connection up here at the hospital).

I originally started this blog to figure out what to do with my life when The Kid graduated high school. It got sidetracked by some nastiness in my life, that after some time, thank God, I have moved past. But I failed to figure out what I want to do now that I am not exactly tethered to this life in Kansas City.

In looking through all of the missed media, one thing that hit me is that I still have much to do. With me. My life. And those intimately involved. And I failed to make any real ‘New Year’s Resolutions’. That’s not what this post is about. Not really.

But one thing I think I’d like to do is to recognize the good things in my life as I move into and through 2014. So, I am going to attempt to post a photo a day or something good or appreciated or funny that happens… but only positive things.

So, because I missed the actual first day of the year, that will be dedicated to the truly one totally, honestly really good thing in my life, the Kid. I am so blessed to have had him as my child. To have him as my son and friend and the most real love in my life.

And now, that it is the Second of January, I need to post one more photo. And that is the very thing that enables me to write this blog. And earn a very good living. And have fun on the internet. My computer. And more to the point, my Mac computers. It was this that started me on the track all those many years ago that piqued my interest and sucked up all my free time and made me valuable in the knowledge that I could offer. Thanks to ‘stumbling’ onto that first Macintosh, I now have a sustainable career that I LOVE!

So, as I write from my hospital bed, I do it on my trusty MacBookPro. Yes, I am an Apple FanBoy! 🙂 Which has led me to this blog and more importantly, my logo and icon:

Okay, so there it is. The first two days of 2014. I hope you come back and see what’s next. I have some ideas. Maybe you want to share with me yours.
